If you are wanting to learn affiliate marketing, or expand your skills in internet marketing then no doubt you have a final goal. This goal could be something small such as setting up a website, it could be a target to learn a new skill. It can also be a large target such as wanting to earn a full time income online.

Whenever you do anything in life that might take a little time it is always recommended to create some form of list of goals and targets. This will naturally allow you to keep motivation to ensure that you get tasks done that need to be complete. After all affiliate marketing does not make you rich over night, in fact the first few months you may not see alot of sales unless you put the work and time into it.

I always recommend having one final goal, this would normally be what you are trying to achieve such as a full time wage or a specific amount of money. Lets say for example that our target for 2010 is to make $50K in a year, this would be our final goal.

Now lets face it, if we was working solid for a year to try and reach this goal without any small goals we would begin to lose motivation. Therefore I would recommend splitting this goal up into smaller goals, for example;

• Goal 2: Make $25k In 6 months
• Goal 3: Make $12.5k in 3 months
• Goal 4: Make $4.1k in 1 Month

These goals might feel hard to reach, that is the point of goals though to push ourselves into working hard to get the tasks done. Some people may also prefer to set sales goals and targets, instead of concentrating on a certain amount of money. Why not set a target of how many sales your website or blog makes.

• Month 1: Make 1 sale
• Month 2: Make 1 sale every 2 weeks
• Month 3: Make 1 sale every week
• Month 4: Make 2 Sales a week
• Month 5: Make 1 sale every day
• Month 6: Make 5 sales a day

Depending on what your selling the two examples above might still result in earning the same amount of money, although the sales targets would seem more attainable to a new affiliate and therefore is recommended.

Now get to work! Write down your goals and targets and in the next 6 months, work hard and you WILL be able to tick each one of them off!
